Blade was born as human vampire hybrid, because he was still contaminated in the belly of his pregnant mother when she was bitten by the vampire Deacon Frost. With that, he became powerful but mortal, and with the help of his mentor Abraham Whistler, went to fight the vampires to avenge the death of his mother.
